Current Hot Zones!
Per a thread in EQplayers forums, the following will be the next set of Hot Zones -- due to go live in either late January/early February.
There will be a mechanism similar to the Unmasked Changeling of a few hot zone cycles before, for the dropping of the new hot zone augs.
Level Zone
20 North/South Ro
25 Solusek's Eye
30 Blightfire Moors
35 Stone Hive
40 Dulak's Harbor
45 Skyshrine
50 Akheva Ruins
55 Crypt of Nadox
60 Riwwi
65 Torden, Bastion of Thunder
70 Ruins of Illsalin
Some notes: Clerics, Druids, and Shaman all have Pure Blood quests involving the Crypt of Nadox, so when guildies make plans to group there, be sure to look up the respective quest if you are of those classes and get that very valuable blood purification spell (cures poison *and* disease).
Stone Hive bixies are very social -- groups visiting that zone would do well to include a young chanter for crowd control.
A level 70 hot zone has been added, now that the level cap is at 80. This zone is full of tasty undead, so paladins and clerics can exercise (and exorcise).....
Lots of people have already started exploring Torden, Bastion of Thunder. If you can, start accumulating the necessary parts for the Ring that will get you into the higher levels. You need a ring container that drops, plus a globe from each of the elements.

Re: Current Hot Zones!
Illsalin is a cruddy zone to pick to be "hot."
Not sure why you'd have trouble getting TO it tho. Invis pretty much protects you from almost everything in Undershore. The only mobs that see thru are some undead, mostly on an island.

Re: Current Hot Zones!
As I seem to recall from my raiding days, you use the guild hall portal to get to Undershore -- or talk to a kind wizard or druid. From there, invis and lev are your friends. Head to the southwest corner of the zone -- that's where you access the Ruins of Ilsalin. Once there, you need to con mobs as you move through the zone, because some are undead and will see invis.
Oh, and these guys hit hard.

Re: Current Hot Zones!
I'm assuming you have the maps downloaded, right? As stated above, either get the druid/wiz port or make the long run from Nektulos Forest. Invis is necessary to avoid useless aggro. Cloudy potions are your friend, if your class doesn't cast an instant invis.

BoT
I have heard rumors that you don't need the BoT key any longer to be able to use the towers to get higher up in this zone.... Is this true? Anyone tried it and know for a fact?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Current Hot Zones!
you still need tower key (or be in grp with one that have it) ,but to enter bot you "only" need the correct lvl.
Re: Current Hot Zones!
Awesome! Thanks for the clarification!
